National Weather Service Issues Heat Advisory Until Midnight Friday Night

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a Heat Advisory for portions of central, east central, north central, south central, southeast, southwest and west central Indiana from 8 a.m. today to midnight Friday night.

Heat index values up to 109 expected. Hot temperatures and high humidity near or at 100 percent may cause heat illnesses to occur. Highest heat index values expected Friday.

Counties affected are Clinton, Boone, Carroll, Warren, Tippecanoe, Howard, Fountain, Montgomery, Tipton, Hamilton, Hendricks along with pretty much the entire state of Indiana.

Individuals should drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside,
