Nicholas Gail Walburn, 78, died on Wednesday, May 12, 2022, at Grand Brook Memory Care of Zionsville, Indiana. He was born on January 8, 1944, in Middleport, Ohio, the son of Eldon and Garnet (Starkey) Walburn.
Nick graduated from Ft. Myers High School in 1962. Following graduation, he served with the US Army and was assigned to the 80th Army Band in Ft. Stewart, Georgia. Upon completion of his military service, Nick used his military benefit and attended Edison Community College successfully completing an Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees. He worked at a wholesale distribution of air-condition and commercial refrigeration equipment and related supplies known as Tropic Supply, where he retired in 2005.
Nick began skydiving while in the Army and continued this hobby with a local skydiving club in Ft. Myers. Nick also continued to play the trombone into his retirement by being a member of the Lebanon Community Band, performing at concerts around the state.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Woodrow Wilson; sister Elaine Parker and her husband Hank; along with Lowell Wilson, his brother.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Judy (Moss) Walburn; children, Lori (Rick) Adams of Cincinnati, Ohio, Troy (Cheryl) Walburn of Bremen Georgia, Woodrow (Patricia) Walburn of Sarasota Florida, Brian (Pam) Acton of Carmel, Indiana and Barb Harnish of Lebanon, Indiana. He also was blessed with ten grandchildren.
Memorial Services with military rites will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 27, 2022 at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street in Lebanon, Indiana.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 1:00 until the time of service at the funeral home in Lebanon. Burial of Ashes will follow services at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
