The Indiana Department of Transportation has announced that a temporary road closure is expected to begin tomorrow and extend into next week for the northbound entrance ramp to Interstate 65 at State Road 38 in Tippecanoe County near Dayton.
Beginning on or after tomorrow, Friday, Aug. 23, crews are expected to remove the barrier wall on the northbound exit ramp, which will be followed by a closure of the northbound entrance ramp on or after Monday, Aug. 26.
As crews prepare for the closure, a single-day lane closure is also expected to be conducted tomorrow on the right northbound lane of Interstate 65 to place a barrier wall for the closure of the entrance ramp occurring next week.
During the closure, the crews will be tasked to restore pavement on the ramp, and the department announced that work is expected to be completed by early November as weather permits.
The official detour around the closure is State Road 38 to Veterans Memorial Parkway, then north to State Road 26 and east back to Interstate 65. The department released a statement encouraging all drivers to seek an alternate route around the closure and to use caution around this and all work zones.
