Numerous Fire Departments Respond To Structure Fire In Colfax Area Monday Afternoon

The Perry Township Fire Department was dispatched on Monday afternoon for reports of a structure fire in the Colfax area that resulted in the need for additional responders from multiple departments.

Yesterday, just before 1 p.m., Box 2103 was dispatched for a report of a structure fire in the 5700 Block of Broadview Road, and a second alarm was issued as the fire was marked as a working fire prior to arrival as heavy black smoke and fire was visible from the northside of Boone County.

A unit from the Colfax Police Department reportedly arrived on scene and witnessed that the entire rear wall of the residence was involved with fire identified through the roof.

Engine 122 arrived on the scene, followed by Engine 121 to begin the fight on the fire. The third alarm was struck, which brought in additional manpower and tankers. Following several hours, the fire was extinguished and the scene was cleared shortly before 5 p.m.

No injuries were reported during the incident. An investigator from the Frankfort Fire Department was tasked with investigating the fire.

Assisting agencies included Colfax Police Department, Frankfort Fire Department, Clinton County EMS, Clinton County Central Dispatch, Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, Madison Township Fire Department, Clarks Hill – Lauramie Township Fire Department, Thorntown/Sugar Creek Township Fire Department, Darlington Fire Territory, Randolph Township Fire Department and the American Red Cross.
