The Optimist Fishing Derby will be held Saturday June 4 for area youth and their families at the Frankfort Lagoons (north of Frankfort on Union Road). This is an Indiana Free Fishing Day. Indiana residents do not need a license to fish.
Registration begins at 9am with fishing till noon. Awards will be given for the BIGGEST FISH caught by youth ages 0-8, 9-13 and 14-18! All youth must be accompanied by parent or adult guardian. Bring your own fishing gear & bait – or use ours! Free light lunch served after the awards!
This free event is a joint effort of the Frankfort Optimist Club, the Born to Shine Optimist Club, the Crossing Junior Optimist Club, the Frankfort Lions Club, Frankfort Unified Neighborhoods, local Boy Scouts, and interested individuals.
