Paul Richard Shelton, 75, of Thorntown, Indiana passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023, at Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis. He was born on May 19, 1948, in Indianapolis, a son of the late Lawrence and Lillian (Scifers) Shelton.
In May of 1968, he was married to Patricia Maxine (Batts) Shelton. She passed away on August 23, 2019.
Paul worked in production for Navistar in Indianapolis for over 35 years. He loved his grandchildren and was always there for them. He and his granddaughter, Samantha, used to draw pictures together at the table for hours as this was Samantha’s main method of communicating her true feelings through her art. He liked motorcycles, especially classic motorcycles, and enjoyed shooting sports.
Survivors include his son, David Richard Shelton of Indianapolis; two grandchildren, Corey Austin Lee Shelton of Indianapolis and Samantha Jo Ellis of Morgantown; and niece, Sharon Marie Lopez.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Paul was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence Shelton and Edward Shelton.
Funeral Services with military rites are planned for 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 19, 2023, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will follow at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown, Indiana.
