Registration Opens For Wabash Heartland Region Child Care Summit

Purdue Extension has invited local community members to save the date and partake in the Wabash Heartland Region Child Care Summit set for February in West Lafayette.

Community members have been encouraged to participate in the summit on Feb. 22 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Beck Agricultural Center at 4550 US 52 W. in West Lafayette. Professional development training hours will be given, and a limited number of professional development stipends will be available to those in the seven-county region, including Benton, Carroll, Clinton, Fountain, Tippecanoe, Warren and White counties.

The summit has been designed to benefit child care providers, including family home-based, ministries and centers in the region. The objective of the summit are to provide relevant and useful information on topics such as policy, education, business operations, hiring and onboarding, behavior management, mentoring and self care and funding opportunities, bring together regional child care stakeholders to listen and learn from other’s experiences in the field and celebrate and appreciate regional child care providers for their commitment and devotion to the young children and families in the region.

The summit will consist of expert panel discussions, networking opportunities, a workshop led by Mary Jo Huff, state agency vendors, incentives to support child care operations, door prizes, professional development training hours and more.

The registration deadline has been set for Feb. 7 at 4 p.m. Registration may be completed at Summary – Wabash Heartland Region Child Care Summit – February 22, 2025.
