Frankfort and Clinton County residents need to be aware of a scam involving their electric bill.
On Monday night, Utility Service Board Chairman Kent Brewer said he has received a call.
“I personally received a phone message that basically stated you’ve been over paying your electric bill and gas bill and that you would be eligible for a $50 refund and a 35 percent reduction in your electric bill,” said Brewer.
Brewer said this is not true as did Stacy Uitts, who is in charge of billing for the city.
“There is some scam stuff going on in the area,” said Brewer. “If you get one of these calls, delete it.”
