Frankfort, Carroll, Delphi, Lebanon, and Western Boone were all in action last night for Boys Tennis Sectionals.
Sectional 34 – Crawfordsville
Lebanon took down county rival, Western Boone 3-2 last night. Lebanon won at two singles, one doubles, and two doubles. Gavin Hawkins will advance to individual regionals for the Stars.
1S – Gavin Hawkins (WB) v Owen Bigler (L) 6-3, 6-1
2S – Jon Rutherford (L) vs Wes Byrd (WB) 7-6(9-7), 6-2
3S – Jacob Collins (WB) vs Thomas Devlin (L) 6-2, 6-4
1D – Owen Oakley/Easton Nance (L) vs Jack Ferrell/Ian Kincade (WB) 6-4, 6-2
2D – Eli Mitchell/Burke Cavins (L) vs Owen Kincade/Parker Lawson (WB) 6-1, 6-1
Lebanon will play Crawfordsville for a Sectional Championship tonight at 5 p.m.
Sectional 42 – Frankfort
Frankfort fell 5-0 at the hands of Lafayette Central Catholic last night. The team finishes with an 8-7 record in a successful season under coach Julie Calvert.
Sectional 43 – Logansport
Delphi took on Logansport but fell 3-2. Lakin Wakeman and Braydn Gleason won in three sets at one doubles and will advance individually to regional play. The two doubles duo of Quentin Stankard and Willy Wood also ended the season with a win.
Carroll took on Lewis Cass in a highly competitive matchup but couldn’t pull it out, losing 3-2. Carroll’s Sam Ellis wins at one singles and will advance to individual regionals next week. Bryce Bowman and Brenton Sheagley also won at two doubles.
