Richard Lynn “Dick” Rodkey, 81, of Rossville, IN, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2025, after a brief stay at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, IN. He was born on October 31, 1943, in Frankfort, IN, to Russell Emerson and Mary Alice (White) Rodkey. He married Sue Ellen Edington on August 10, 1963, and she survives.
Dick was a 1961 Rossville High School graduate. He served in the United States Army as a Military Policeman at the Continental Army Command in Virginia. He was a farmer. He retired as a Marketing Representative with CGB and had worked for other crop insurance companies. He was the present secretary-treasurer of the Rossville American Legion, and a member of the Rossville Masonic Lodge.
He served on the Rossville Town Board, Clinton County Zoning Board, Secretary/Treasurer of the Rossville Cemetery Association and the Clinton County 4-H Council. He enjoyed gardening and mowing the lawn. He will be remembered for his beloved chocolate chip cookies.
Dick is survived by his children, Emerson Scott Rodkey, Lynn Rashel (Darryl DeVore) Rodkey; siblings, Mary Ann (Jim Rahe) and Rebecca Rodkey. He is also survived by a granddaughter, Kyah Ann Rodkey.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Nancy Austin.
A private family service will be held. Day & Genda Funeral Home ~ Bodine Chapel in Rossville is assisting with the arrangements.
