Rita Lynn Sweet, 68, of Lafayette, IN, passed away October 28, 2025 at Franciscan Hospital, Lafayette. She was born February 16, 1957 in Lafayette, IN to David & Mary Crider.
Rita was a graduate of Jefferson High School in Lafayette and was a homemaker. She had been a member of the Army National Guard. Rita loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Rita is survived by her son, Jonathan Alan (Brianna) Sweet of Frankfort and his children, Jordan (Bridget), Drew, Waylon Sweet, Marcos & Alexis Salinas, Anais Sweet, William & Everleigh Sweet, her daughter, Elizabeth Sweet Telez of W. Lafayette and her three children, great grandchildren, Mia Sweet and Jerry Sweet, three brothers and one sister. She was preceded in death by her parents, three siblings and a granddaughter, Sophie Elizabeth Sweet.
