
Ronald L. “Ron” Galey, 66, of Lafayette, passed away, Friday, September 4, 2026, at Milner Community Health Care. He was born on October 23, 1959, in Frankfort to Robert and Linda (Peterson) Galey.
Ron was a graduate of Jefferson High School, class of 1978. He worked several jobs over his years including, City of Lafayette Street Department, a driver for CityBus, Mike Raisor Auto Body Repair and Denny’s Custom Rods. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, muscle cars, mowing the lawn, and listening to classic rock music. He was an avid Harley Davidson fan and loved riding his motorcycles and wearing his Harley Davidson attire. Ron was a lover of animals, especial German Shepherd dogs, his dog, Ace and cat, Sunshine. He was a very hardworking man that loved people and never met a stranger. If you were lucky enough to get to know him, you were soon assigned a “nick name” and part of “his gang.” His love of life will truly be missed.
Ron is survived by his son, Austin Galey; daughter, Sara Galey; fiancé, Diana Hoaks; brothers, Bob (Georgette) Galey; sisters, Debra Godbey and Diane (Craig) Mahle; grandchildren, Magnolia, Ella, and Carter Brock; and the mother of his children, Carol Love.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Rick Galey.
Visitation will be held, Friday, September 11, 2026, from 11am until the time of the service at 1pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home ~ Bodine Chapel in Rossville. Everyone is invited to wear their Harley Davidson attire in memory of Ron. Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery in Monitor.
