Rossville Consolidated School District Board of Education President Joe Hufford announced today, Sept. 25 that the board intends to focus on enhancing transparency measures for its Board meetings to provide additional information to parents and community members unable to attend the meetings.
Beginning Oct. 1, the District intends to offer livestream broadcasts of school board meetings at rcsd.k12.in.us/live in advance of the state-mandated requirement for livestream availability set for July 1, 2025. Following the Oct. 1 meeting, the District intends to introduce a live stream archive on the District’s webpage, which will provide links to recorded meetings for further review by community members.
Superintendent Dr. Jim Hanna stated that the Board currently provides information regarding Board meetings on the website with meeting details being posted alongside agendas being shared with parents through ParentSquare. After the meetings, the information presented is currently published on the District’s website, including the PowerPoint presentation utilized during the meeting, which includes critical action items, motions made, individuals involved and final vote tallies.
“The District is in the process of fully implementing the livestream program and expects the quality to improve as additional equipment is installed,” Hanna wrote. “We are actively working to ensure the best possible viewing experience for our community.”
Board members Joe Hufford, Nathan Root, Nathan McCullough, Julia Mink and Jentry Pendleton may be contacted for further information regarding board matters at [email protected].
For more information regarding the implementation of the livestreaming capabilities, community members have been directed to contact the Superintendent’s Office at 765-379-2990.
The next Board meeting will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 1 beginning at 7 p.m. at Rossville High School and will be available online at rcsd.k12.in.us/live.
