Mrs. Sandra “Sandy” Kay Trees Bailey
Mrs. Sandra Kay Trees Bailey, age 63, of Madison, Indiana formerly of Frankfort entered this life on April 18, 1959 in Frankfort, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late Caroline Joyce Raidt Trees Birch. She was raised in Frankfort and received her graduate degree from Clinton Prairie High School and then graduated from Indiana Business College receiving her accounting degree. She was united in marriage on October 3, 1975 in Frankfort at the Baptist Church to Martin Joseph Bailey. This happy union of 47 years was blessed with daughters, Natalie and Carrie. Sandy was a loving wife, a devoted mom, loving grandma and a proud great grandma. She never met a stranger and loved others. She had worked in the bookkeeping and accounting field all of her working career and had worked for Indiana Brass in Frankfort, Rogers Finishing Tools in Lebanon, and CIS-Crop Insurance in Clinton County among several other places.  Twelve years ago, Sandy and Marty purchased a home in downtown Madison and enjoyed spending weekends and other times in Madison, they moved here for good in 2021. She was an avid reader, family was the most important, she liked making jewelry and beading, crocheting and knitting and really any kind of crafts. She enjoyed antiques and was a great collector of many things. She enjoyed membership in the Auxiliary of the Frankfort American Legion Post No. 12 and after coming to Madison enjoyed fellowship at the Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion. She also had enjoyed fellowship with the Hickory Homemakers in Clinton County.  Sandra died on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at 2:52 p.m. at the Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky after a brief illness.
A LOVING FAMILY
Sandra will be missed by her loving husband of 47 years, Martin Joseph “Marty” Bailey of Madison, Indiana; her loving daughters, Natalie Hodgen and her husband, Chad of Monticello, Indiana, Carrie McGill and her husband, Sean of West Lafayette, Indiana; her grandchildren, Danielle Hodgen, Taylor Hodgen, Hannah Hodgen, Erin Shelton and Nathan Shelton; her great granddaughter, Luna McDonald; her brother, James Strode and his wife, Margie of Frankfort, Indiana; her brother in law, Brad Bailey and his wife, Annette of Colfax, Indiana; her sister in law, Charlotte Bailey of Colfax, Indiana; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her mother, Caroline Joyce Raidt Trees Birch, her brothers, Mike Strode and Stan Trees, and her sister, Denise Donoho.
CELEBRATION OF LIFE
Sandra chose cremation and a celebration of her life will be announced and held on Thursday, December 17, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. at the Frankfort American Legion Post No. 12 in Frankfort, Indiana.
