Things heated up at the Derby Saturday evening at the Clinton County Fairgrounds. With high temperatures in the high 80’s around 45 cars were signed in and inspected for the four heats. Youth Compacts, Street Stock, Motor Swap, and Compact.
The Kids Power Wheels started off the derby.
The derby produced a lot of fun and excitement for the evening.
Michigantown Volunteer Fire Department and Clinton County EMS were on hand in full gear for safety and was needed for minor injuries in the Youth Compact heat of two drivers.

A special award was given in memory Donavon Clendenning, a staple at the Clinton County demolition derby for many years. Donavon passed in May of 2021. The award and check is given by his family in his memory. This year the girls picked car # 827 nick name Porkchop as the most tore up car as it went over the wall.
In the Street Stock there were only two entries Ross and Rusty McWhirt who happen to also be father and son. His father Rusty taught him well as Ross defeated his dad for 1st place.
In the Youth Compact heat Ethan Lake who took 2nd place was driving in memory of his grandfather who passed away last year and was very proud to take home a trophy in his memory, Ethan also had a sister Abby Lake who drove car number 3.
