Fall Break is on the brink for Boone County students, and multiple organizations in the county are binding together to provide free kids sack lunches for the week outside of the school walls.
Parents of Boone County school-aged kids may receive a week’s worth of take-home lunches and breakfasts for the entirety of fall break courtesy of the Shalom House in partnership with multiple community organizations across the county.
No application or registration is required, but a photo ID or a proof of residency will be required for the receipt of the lunches and breakfasts.
Each bag that is received will include five entrees, five snacks, five fruits and vegetables and a milk voucher alongside a choice of book. All community members are welcome to participate in the program.
The lunches and breakfasts may be picked up on Monday, Oct. 21 at the Thorntown Library from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Shalom House from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., The Giving Tree in Jamestown from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Love INC. in Lebanon from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. or the Advance Fire Station from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
