Sharpsville Woman Arrested For Leading Short Pursuit While Intoxicated

A Sharpsville woman received charges after a short pursuit that revealed intoxicated driving, police say.

On March 26 just before 6 p.m., Clinton County Central Dispatch reportedly received a call regarding a vehicle traveling eastbound from 3000 W. State Rd. 28, and Frankfort Police Department Officer Ethan Cunningham was dispatched to the area where he reportedly located the vehicle in the area of 1700 W. State Rd. 28.

According to authorities, Cunningham witnessed multiple traffic violations and attempted to conduct a routine traffic stop, but the vehicle failed to stop for emergency lights and sirens. The vehicle was reported to have come to a stop at Hoke Avenue and Wabash Street.

After further investigation, authorities arrested Brittney Trine, 38, of Sharpsville, and she received charged by the Clinton County Prosecutor’s Office with resisting law enforcement with a vehicle, level 6 felony, obstruction of justice, level 6 felony, possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanor, and operating while intoxicated while endangering a person, misdemeanor.

The department released a reminder that all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
