Shirley R. Wells Scott, 90, of Frankfort, Ind., passed away April 2, 2025 at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon. She was born on November 23, 1934 in Lebanon to Russell Ivan and Myrtle Mae (Cunningham) Howson. She married Ramon G. Wells on July 25, 1952 in Lebanon and he preceded her in death on March 9, 1994. She married Wesley A. Scott on October 28, 1995 at the Scotland Christian Church and he preceded her in death on October 15, 2023.
Shirley was a 1952 graduate of Lebanon High School and worked as secretary for Morrison & Morrison Law Office for over 17 years. She served as Clinton County Recorder for 4 years and as Deputy Recorder of 12 years. Shirley was a member of Scotland Christian Church. She was a charter member of the Fraternal Order of Police Auxiliary, a charter member of the Frankfort Eagles Auxiliary #976, a member of the Moose Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, and the AIM Homemakers Club. She loved spending time with family and enjoyed painting, gambling, Bingo, and Euchre club.
Surviving are her Daughter: Sandra R. Wells (Ed Cottrell) of Frankfort, 4 Grandchildren, 8 Great-Grandchildren, Step-Children: Andy (Debbie) Scott and Pam (Mike) Reeder, 11 Step-Grandchildren, 2 Great-Step-Grandchildren, and Siblings: Trudy Wells, Linda Treanor, and Steve (Beverly) Howson. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, son: Victor E. Wells, step-sons: Joe and Greg Scott, and brother: Rodney Howson.
Friends may visit 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at Archer-Weston Funeral & Cremation Center, 501 East Clinton Street, Frankfort. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 10, 2025 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Frankfort.
