Single-Vehicle Crash Results In Extrication In Boone County Monday Evening

A single-vehicle crash resulted in the extrication of one occupant while first responders worked to restore power to the community surrounding the incident.

Yesterday, just before 6 p.m., Whitestown Fire Department and Zionsville Fire Department responded to the 1500 block of South 700 East for reports of a vehicle on its side and smoking where the occupant was trapped within the vehicle, and by 5:57 p.m., the call was marked as a working entrapment.

The occupant reported to first responders that they had experienced lacerations, and Boone REMC was dispatched as well to the scene due to the collision with a telephone pole.

Extrication was reportedly completed around 6:03 p.m., and the occupant was transported to a local hospital. Over 1,000 community members in the area were without power for a few hours following the incident.
