Snowy Weather Sweeps Into The Region This Evening; Wind Chills Drop To Single Digits Over The Weekend

The National Weather Service announced this morning that the team is predicting a transition from rain to snow this evening north of I-70 heading into the Thanksgiving holiday.

Counties north of I-70, namely Carroll and Clinton counties and the northern portion of Boone County, will see the transition begin around 8 p.m. with the southern portion of Boone County transitioning around 10 p.m.

According to the service, total snowfall is expected to be less than an inch, but localized bands may lead to rapidly reduced visibilities for drivers.

The snow is expected to cease early Thanksgiving morning, but the service is stated that the weather will continue to shift to single-digit wind chills for the weekend. Friday is expected to see wind chills reach a low of around 11 to 12-degrees in the region, slowly cooling further over the weekend, culminating in an expected 3 to 5-degree wind chill for the region Monday morning.
