Southbound I-65 Lanes Closed At 148-Mile Marker In Boone County Until 9 a.m. Due To Semi Fire

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office announced around 8 a.m. that a semi truck fire was located at the 148-mile maker on I-65 southbound, closing all southbound lanes this morning, Friday, Aug. 16.

The department stated that due to the fire, all southbound lanes are shut down for emergency vehicles around the mile marker for around an hour with an expected reopening time of 9 a.m.

Drivers are encouraged to seek an alternate route this morning until the lanes reopen and expect traffic delays during the morning commute on I-65.
