The Indiana Department of Transportation announces State Road 38 will close on or after Friday, April 8 just over one mile east of Kirklin. This is for a small structure replacement over Stowers Ditch located between C.R.’s 900 and 1000 E. This is scheduled to reopen Friday, June 10 Access will be maintained to residences and businesses in the area. The official detour follows, U.S. 421, State Road 47 and back.
This project was awarded to Beaty Construction Inc. for $1.7 million. The project also includes two other small structure replacements, one on S.R. 75 nearly three miles south of S.R. 32 and the other on S.R. 39 just south of Milledgeville and north of W. C.R. 500 South. It also includes a bridge deck replacement on S.R. 39 over Main Edlin Ditch just over three miles south of I-65. Notifications for these closures will be sent in advance. The project is scheduled to be completed by late October of this year.
