Steven Rocky Smith, 74, of rural Frankfort, died April 28, 2024 at I.U. Health Arnett Hospital, Lafayette, Ind. He was born August 21, 1949 in Frankfort, Ind. to Carl & Evelyn (Munson) Smith. He married Judy Gregory on June 1, 1968 in Frankfort and she survives.
Rocky was a 1967 graduate of Frankfort High School and a lifelong Clinton County resident. He was self-employed, owning Smith’s Taxidermy, retiring after almost 40 years. He was a Master Taxidermist with the International Association of Taxidermy, past president with the Indiana Association of Taxidermy, member of the Clinton Masonic Lodge #54, American Radio Relay League and was a Ham Radio Operator. Rocky was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, loved hunting, camping and being outdoors.
He is survived by his wife: Judy Smith of rural Frankfort, daughter: Leisha (John) Pica of Tampa, FL, sons: Steven C. (Amy) Smith of Frankfort and Steven R. (Courtney) Nienaber of Lebanon, brother: Mark (Frannie) Smith of Frankfort, and 6 Grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Batty.
Funeral Services:
Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Funeral services will begin at 5 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery. Please visit goodwinfuneralhome.com, where you may leave a message.
