Susan Helen Smart, 66, of Frankfort, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2024, at IU Health Arnett in Lafayette. She was born October 26, 1957, in Tyrone, Pennsylvania to Harry and Barbara (Hample) Isenberg. She married Brian Keith Smart, Sr. in May 21,1976, and he survives.
Susan attended Tyrone High School. She worked for Mallory Timers as a lead inspector until its closing. She then worked other jobs over the years, her last being Star Furniture. She was a member of Cornerstone Assembly of God. She loved playing bingo, crocheting, playing games, cooking and watching cooking shows. Susan didn’t know a stranger and seemed to make friends with anyone she met. She enjoyed hanging with her friends and enjoying life. But her family was her heart. She loved being a wife, mom, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. Being with her family was what brought true joy to her heart.
Along with her husband of 48 years and her mother, Susan is survived by her children, Barbara Jo Isenberg, Brian (Nikki) Smart, Jr., Subrina Smart; sister, Terri (Rodney Smith) Isenberg; sister-in-law, Crystal Isenberg; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father; brothers, Tim, Danny, and Joey Isenberg; and a nephew, Boomer Smith.
Visitation will be held, Friday, July 26, 2024, from 11am until the time of the service at 1pm, at Cornerstone Assembly of God. Pastor Brad Fullerton will officiate. Day & Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort is assisting with the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
