Ted M. Eaton, 79, of Frankfort, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. He was born September 30, 1945, in Clinton County, Indiana, to Everett and Esther (Lambert) Eaton. On June 15, 1975, he was united in marriage to Martha A. Vass at First Baptist Church in Frankfort.

After graduating from Frankfort High School in 1964, Ted started his career at Indiana Bell. He was called to serve in the United States Army and completed a two-year tour (1965–1967) with the 25th Infantry Division during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, Ted returned home and resumed his career with Indiana Bell, where he worked as an installer and repairman for 42 years until his retirement in 2006. He was often known as the phone man around town.

A lifelong resident of Frankfort, Ted was previously a member of the First Baptist Church and was a proud lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). He had a passion for metalworking, enjoyed golfing, and was known for his artistic talents and inventive spirit. He loved to tinker, create, and bring his ideas to life.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Eaton, of Frankfort; daughter, Kama (Jon) Hough of Clermont, Florida; son, Bryce (Emily) Eaton of rural Frankfort; brother, Byron “Barney” Eaton of Georgetown, Texas; and four grandchildren, Brayden and Brandon Eaton, and Zadie and Zaylah Hough.

He was preceded in death by his parents and half-siblings, Don Eaton and Marge Scircle.

Ted will be remembered for his dedication to family, his honorable service to his country, and his creative, generous, and playful spirit.

A memorial visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. May 22, 2025 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort.  The memorial service, with Military Rites, will begin at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
