The Indiana Department of Transportation announced temporary lane closures expected to impact U.S. 52, known as Sagamore Parkway, westbound between Lafayette and West Lafayette over the Wabash River expected to begin tomorrow, Sept. 3.
Beginning on or after tomorrow, crews are expected to close individual lanes over the river to conduct maintenance and repairs of the bridge. The work is planned to occur during the day with both lanes being reopened for travel during the nighttime hours. The department stated that the speed limit in the area of the closures will be reduced to 45-miles-per-hour during the construction phases.
The work is expected to last until mid-November as weather permits.
The department encouraged drivers to use caution in and around the area to ensure that the workers remain safe during the construction.
