The Indiana Department of Transportation announces the U.S. 52 entrance ramp to I-65 southbound, near Lebanon, will temporarily close on or after Wednesday, December 14, for shoulder strengthening work, along with a shift into the project’s winter configuration. It’s expected to reopen on or after Thursday, December 16, weather permitting.
The official detour follows U.S. 52 to S.R. 47 east to S.R. 39 south and back to I-65, mile marker 139 (exit 139).
This project was awarded to E & B Paving LLC. for $83.7 million. It also includes bridge replacements near U.S. 52, a bridge removal near Lafayette Avenue, small structure replacements and drainage construction on I-65. The entire project is expected to be completed in May of 2023.
