The Thorntown Public Library is hosting a free Genealogy 101 course next Friday for those interested in beginning their journey of discovering their ancestry or those seeking a refresher on proper techniques when researching.
Community members have been invited to attend the “Genealogy 101: Your Roadmap to Success” course on Friday, Oct. 18 at 5:30 p.m. at the Thorntown Public Library in the Guinn Room. The class is hosted by Amber Oldenburg, a genealogist, lecturer and social media manager at Your DNA Guide. Oldenburg holds a degree in Family History Research from Bridgham Young University in Idaho.
The program is free, and registration is encouraged but not required. Registration may be completed at thorntown.librarycalendar.com. Registration will close on Oct. 16, and only 24 seats remain as of Oct. 10 at 2 p.m.
