Tickets On Sale Now For Clinton County Civic Theatre Production Of ‘A Bench In The Sun’

The Clinton County Civic Theatre has announced its upcoming production of “A Bench in the Sun,” written by Ron Clark, set to take the stage at the Frankfort Community Public Library Skanta Theatre in February.

The production revolves around two longtime buddies, Harold and Burt, who spend their days trading barbs on a park bench before their routine become shaken with the arrival of a new resident who happens to be a once-famous actress. As they attempt to keep their grumpy dynamic alive, the duo joins together with the actress to bond over witty banter before facing a shocking reality that their beloved retirement home is on the chopping block. Throughout the play, Harold, Burt and their new friend join forces in a fight to save their home.

“A Bench in the Sun” is directed by Frankfort’s own Carol Price, with Tashia Lindvall-Day as Assistant Director. Civic Theatre veterans and Frankfort High School sweethearts Eric and Pamela Adams will bring their decades of experience to the production, harkening back to their first performance with the theatre together during the first ever show produced by Clinton County Civic Theatre.

Pat Day, owner of Day and Genda Funeral Home, will return to the stage once again after his most recent appearance in “Double Wide Texas,” and Jan McGill, a charter member and local theatre legend, will add her considerable talent to the cast as the Voice Behind the Scenes.

Tickets are currently on sale for $12 at the Civic Theatre website at ccctonline.org. Performance will run from Feb. 27 through March 1 at 7:30 p.m. with a special Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. on March 2.
