Tom Hale

Thomas “Tom” Herbert Hale, 59, was called to his eternal home on Wednesday, July 28th. A beloved father, husband and son, Tom enjoyed the presence of his loving family and friends. Whether it be a hog roast for a wedding, cookouts or bonfires, Tom was always the life of the party. He lived in the moment like no one could, cruising in his Ford truck or parked at his picnic table: Tom Hale enjoyed life to the fullest with Johnny Cash cranked and a Tall-boy Bud. He enjoyed watching his son, nieces and nephews play high school sports. His son’s friends have learned more from Tom than anything the streets could teach. His life lectures made you listen, and made you think. He loved traveling to the ocean for family vacations and playing golf with his brothers, son and friends.

He touched more people with his generosity than his words, because modesty was his game. Tom was survived by his beautiful wife, Mindy Durham, loving children Tegan Large (Dustin) and Tyler Hale, grandchildren Christian and Zachary Large, the best brothers in the world Tim and Eddie Hale, brothers-in-law Mark Compton, Gerry (Patty) Durham, sister-in-law Tina (Chad) Ricker, nieces and nephews: Joshua (Jessica), Kenny (Lacey), Alisa (Travis), Felicia, Mitchell, Jesse, Haley, and Dylan. Charley Durham was his little sweetheart, and the Compton Clan of Lil Tyler, Kennsley and Avis Mavis always kept him spry. Tom was welcomed with open arms by his loving Mother and Father, Patricia and Kenneth Hale, feisty sister, Cynthia Compton; Angie Hale, his spirited sister-in-law; and father-in-law, Gerry Durham- his true friend.

He worked at English Excavating & Plumbing in Indianapolis for 27 years with a great work family.
