Troopers Arrest Indianapolis Man for Interstate Shooting

At approximately 10:27 p.m. Wednesday, Indiana State Police Dispatchers received a 911 call about a road rage incident on I-65 near Lafayette Road. The victim was instructed by dispatchers to pull off the interstate and check the vehicle for damage when safe to do so. Initially no damage was found, however a short time later the victim called back and indicated damage consistent with gun shots was located on the vehicle, there were no reported injuries.

Troopers responded to the location of the victim’s vehicle, evidence indicated at least one bullet was fired at the victims car. A subsequent investigation led troopers to an address on Talbott Street in Indianapolis where they located a vehicle matching the description of the suspect’s vehicle.  A search warrant was requested and granted for the residence. The Indiana State Police SWAT Team responded to assist with the search warrant. During the search several people were located in the residence, including 29 year old Christian Williams. During the investigation detectives developed probable cause to arrest Willaims on the preliminary charge of Criminal Recklessness (Shooting a firearm into a building or place where people are likely to gather) a level 5 Felony. He was transported to the Marion County jail and incarcerated. None of the other people in the residence were arrested.

An arrest on probable cause is merely an accusation, actual charges are determined by the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office. All crimes depicted in this release are alleged and all suspects are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court.
