Two Frankfort Police Officers Graduate Indiana Law Enforcement Academy

Today, Officers Matt Henley and Ethan Cunningham will graduate from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy’s 229th class. The officers began training on January 3, 2023.
Sworn, full-time officers are required to attend the academy within one year of appointment. This highly intensive, 15-week training program, ensures the officers have the training and skills to be great police officers. This 600 hours of training is in addition to the 600 hours of training conducted in our field training program.
“We are very proud of our officers,” stated Chief Scott Shoemaker. “They have spent much of the last 15-weeks away from their families and we are all excited to get them back to our city.”
Chief Shoemaker, Deputy Chief Cesar Muñoz, and Patrol Captain Evan Hall will attend the ceremony along with the families of both officers.
Henley and Cunningham return to work next week, where they will complete two more weeks of training and then be released to solo patrol.  The first ten months of employment is dedicated to training.
