The Whitestown Fire Department released information regarding an accident that occurred during the evening of Saturday, Feb. 1 that involved a vehicle and a semi where the vehicle was completed totaled.
The department stated that the collision occurred at the 131-mile-marker of southbound I-65. The collision saw a vehicle end up underneath the semi, crushing the cab of the vehicle.
The department stated that what could have ended in tragedy due to the heavy damage fortunately only resulted in minor injuries. The lanes that involved the collision have been cleaned up and reopened.
While the cause of the collision was not released, the department issued a reminder for drivers to remain attentive at all times while driving.
Assisting agencies at the scene were the Lebanon Fire Department, Whteistown Police Department and Boone County Sheriff’s Office.
