Whitestown Launches Planning Case Viewer For Residents To Discover Local Projects

The Planning Case Viewer showcases the exact area of Whitestown that a project may affect while providing additional information regarding the cases.

The Town of Whitestown has officially launched a new feature on its website for the community to stay up-to-date on the projects sweeping through the town.

The town has announced the launch of its Planning Case Viewer, which is an interactive tool that was designed to provide the community with quick and easy access to current and past projects in Whitestown. The viewer provides streamlined access to proposed projects, site plans, staff reports and more as well as allowing the public to view case statuses, project locations and public hearing information, such as dates and times.

According to the town, the viewer is intended to empower residents to track cases of personal importance from submittal to completion.

According to the viewer, which may be found on the Whitestown wesbite, the Board of Zoning Appeals and Plan Commission hear cases on a monthly basis, and information regarding the meetings will be easily accessible to the public through the viewer.

Users are encouraged to browse the “current cases” page to learn more about the ongoing cases. Users may search for cases and click the information to be redirected on an interactive map that will showcase the location of the project as well as additional information about the project that may be useful to the public.

After locating the case that sparked a user’s interest, the user may explore the map, view case details, documents and public hearing information. Case details may include the case number, case name, case description, applicant, location, case type, case status, submission date, hearing date and hearing location.

The goal of the website is to increase the transparency of the projects occurring in Whitestown while also allowing Whitestown residents to learn more about the projects and ongoing cases that they may wish to speak on at a public hearing or may wish to research further.

The Planning Case Viewer may be found at whitestown.in.gov.

The viewer also allows for community members to submit a contact form to discuss their concerns, comments and more with their selected department, which may span from Human Resources to Street Department to the Planning Department and beyond, while also allowing community members to sign up for the monthly Whitestown Newsletter.
