WILO 96.9 FM Election Coverage Tonight 6:30-?

Kevin Keith and Shan Sheridan will anchor election coverage on WILO  96.9 FM, 102.7 FM and 1570 AM tonight starting at about 6:30 presented by Wampler Services, Inc.

Russ Kaspar will report from Republican Headquarters and interview candidates, elected officials and party leaders. Dennis Bergendorf reports tonight from other county races at large.

Today on Election Day, there were only three voting centers open, including the Community Schools of Frankfort Administration Center, 2400 E. Wabash Street; the Edward Jones 4-H Community Building at the Clinton County Fairgrounds, 1701 S. Jackson Street; and the Adrian Marks Terminal at the Frankfort Municipal Airport on State Road 28.  Voting times today were 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Here’s how the local races shape up:

  • Mayor Judy Sheets will be challenged by John Kirby for the mayor’s position.   Sheets will be seeking her second term as mayor, while Kirby is the former Frankfort Fire Chief.
  • Clarence Warthan is running unopposed in District 1 City Council
  • Newcomer Robert (Joe) Stevens is running unopposed in District 2 City Council
  • Incumbent Michael Brite is running unopposed in District 3 City Council;
  • Incumbent Steve Beardsley is running unopposed in District 4;
  • Joseph Bookwalter and Isac Chavez are both newcomers and opposed in District 5; 
  • Incumbents Eric Woods, Megan Sheets and Brandt Fuller vying for the two at-large positions.  Fuller currently represents District 5 on the board.
  • Longtime city councilman Joe Palmer elected not to file for re-election.
  • Incumbent Carol Bartley has filed to run as Clerk-Treasurer unopposed and incumbent Matt Beardsley has filed to run for City County Judge unopposed.

The public question for the Clinton Central School Corporation deals with the operating referendum renewal.
