Wind Advisory Remains for Clinton County

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a Wind Advisory for portions of central Indiana, including Clinton County, until 6 p.m. Saturday.

Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 to 60 mph expected. Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. The highest wind gusts are expected from 10 a.m. through 1 p.m.

Besides Clinton, other affected areas include Bartholomew, Boone, Brown, Carroll, Clay, Daviess, Decatur, Delaware, Fountain, Greene, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Henry, Howard, Jackson, Jennings, Johnson, Knox, Lawrence, Madison, Marion, Martin, Montgomery, Morgan, Parke, Putnam, Randolph, Rush, Shelby, Sullivan, Tippecanoe, Tipton, Vermillion, Vigo and Warren counties.

People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if you must drive.
