Witham Health Services Brings In The National Guard

Due to the number of coronavirus cases, Boone County, along with all 92 Indiana counties is in the Indiana State Department of Health’s red advisory zone. This has caused Witham Health Services to set stricter visitor guidelines, reduce the number of elective surgeries and pause all in person community education and support group classes. As a result of reduced staff and an increased number of inpatients, the National Guard has been called for assistance. For the next several weeks, four soldiers from the National Guard are assisting in various areas of the hospital, including assisting in Witham’s Extended Care Unit and screening at the ER and North Pavilion entrances.
