The end of 2023 brought the retirement of two of Witham Health Services’ long standing Board of Trustees, Jack Jones and Nancy Morton. Jack served Witham for 28 years as a Witham Board of Trustee and Nancy served for 13 years as a Witham Board of Trustee. During their time, they also each served as the Witham Health Services BOT representative on the Witham Foundation Board of Directors.
Over their tenure they were involved in much change and growth at Witham Health Services. Witham expanded from one location in Lebanon to opening locations in Crawfordsville, Frankfort, Jamestown, Thorntown, Whitestown at Anson and Zionsville. With this new growth Witham was able to introduce new service lines and bring state-of-the-art technology and exceptional health resources. Witham now has close to 1,000 experienced and compassionate staff and over 100 medical providers. Our newest service lines include Cardiology, Endocrinology, Hematology/Oncology, Nephrology, Neurology, Orthopaedics, Pain Management, Rheumatology, Sleep Medicine, Sports Medicine, Wound Care, along with Maternity Center Services and expanded services in all Primary Care offices.
A look at Witham’s growth:
1998 – Jamestown office opened
1999 – Witham opened Cardiac Laboratory at original hospital, Medical Office building built, Broke ground for Thorntown facility
2002 – New hospital opened
2003 – State-of-the- Art Maternity Center opened
2006 – New Cardiac Catheterization lab
2007 – Kidney Dialysis Center opened
2009 – Whitestown at Anson, New Freestanding ER along with Primary Care, Convenient Care, Specialty Services, Radiology and Lab Services
2009 – Lebanon – Main Hospital, North Pavilion A Addition – New Service Line Extended Care Unit, Sports Medicine Program, Wound Care, Medical Spa, Pavilion Boutique/Cancer services, Pavilion Perk Coffee Shop, Expanded Primary Care Offices, Wound Care (Bariatric Chamber)
2009 – Witham kicked off its Wellness Program
2010 – Partnered with local YMCA to create Witham Family YMCA
2013 – Crawfordsville Specialty Center opened
2013 – Lab and Radiology Expansion
2016 – Expanded Cancer Institute, new “TrueBeam” Advanced Radiotherapy System
2017 – Witham Heart Partners – Cardiology Services
2019 – Frankfort Specialty Center opened
2020 – Lebanon – Main Hospital, North Pavilion B Addition – New & Expanded Services including Simulation Education Center, New Cardiology Suite

Witham welcomes new Board Trustee Dr. Michael Hornbecker for the 2024 year. Dr. Michael Hornbecker is an Internal Medicine doctor at Witham Health Services and a longtime resident of Boone County. He has over 12 years of experience as a doctor at Witham. He served on the Witham Foundation Board for 8 years and has been on the Board of Directors for the Boone County Cancer Society for 11 years.
Dr. Hornbecker enjoys practicing high level primary care medicine in a smaller community setting. The fact that he is also a resident of Boone County makes his practice mean even more to him. He often sees three generations of a family and says it is a great privilege to take good care of those in our community. He is looking forward to addressing the ever-evolving challenges and opportunities ahead in his new role as a Witham Board of Trustee.
