
Investigators believe the Ford Mustang, driven by 40 year old Latasha Williams of Indianapolis, entered I-70 going the wrong direction from downtown Indianapolis and traveled eastbound in the westbound lanes before colliding with the Jeep. During the on scene investigation, Trooper Stout became suspicious that Williams was intoxicated. Stout administered field sobriety tests at the scene. After the field sobriety tests, Williams was transported to a local hospital for a certified blood test. The results of that test are pending however Trooper Stout was able to develop probable cause and Williams was arrested, she was transported to the Marion County Jail and incarcerated. She faces the preliminary charges of:
- Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Causing Serious Bodily Injury
- Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated with a BAC of .08 or more Causing Serious Bodily Injury
- Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated Endangerment
- Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated with a BAC above .15
This crash closed two westbound lanes of I-70 for approximately two hours. Two adults and one juvenile from the Jeep were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
