Wylen Ford of Kokomo has developed the “Straw Washer”. Kevin Keith with WILO had a chance to set down with him recently for a phone interview. He has a Kickstarter campaign coming up June 14th. I didn’t set out to make “a” straw washer or a “great” straw washer. I set out to make the best straw washer… TheStrawWasher. I invented this machine to have the superior cleaning power.
1. Two ultrasonic cleaners that microscopically scrub and physically seperate any films and particles from the surface of the straw inside and out. These are positioned directly where people put their mouths on the straws, directing the cleaning power right on the most used part.
2. Four high-heat water jets that instantly hit the straws with a stream of hot/sanitizing water and double as a steamy bath to soak the straws throughout their wash cycle.
3. Two seprated tanks: the first being the ultra wash side that cleans and washes away the particles and liquids that sit on the straw. The second tank being the sanitizing side, fully sanitizing the straw and killing germs that might be left behind from the first tank.
4. And to finish it off, it has individual cleaning built into the design. Making sure the straws are separated while being processed inside the machine so they never touch and receive a COMPLETE wash.
