The Zionsville Parks and Recreation Department announced that a new segment of the local trail will be welcomed to the expanding park system.

The trail segment is expected to tie into the Turkeyfoot trail, will feature a red bridge over Eagle Creek and will continue to Pleasantview Road. The trail, formerly known as Holliday Road, is a rustic trail that will remain as a gravel base at the current moment, but it will welcome pedestrians and cyclists onto its path as it bisects an active farm that has been in operation by the Holliday family since 1936.

“This unique trail will celebrate Zionsville’s agricultural roots and experience farm implement crossings and occassional closures,” the department released. “We look forward to officially welcoming you to this new trail later in the year.”

The sengment is scheduled to remain closed to the public between Pleasantview Road and the red bridge over Eagle Creek as the Zionsville Parks Department prepares the corridor for public use.

The community is encouraged to contact the Parks Department at 317-733-2273 or [email protected] for for more information.
