On Monday evening, Zionsville Mayor John Stehr swore in the newest member of the Zionsville Fire Department, Luke Miller, who boasts a family legacy within the department as a third-generation firefighter.

Miller’s father, Captain Brian Miller, was in attendance for the ceremony alongside his grandfather, Don Miller, who had the honor of pinning him during the ceremony.

“The swearing-in of every firefighter in our town is important and an honor, but last night’s ceremony was extra special,” the department released. “Join us in congratulating Luke and thanking him and his family for their continued dedication to keeping our community safe.”
