The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for portions of central, east central, north central and west central Indiana, including Boone County, from 1 p.m. Monday to 8 a.m. Tuesday.
Besides Boone, other affected counties are Carroll, Warren, Tippecanoe, Howard, Fountain, Montgomery, Clinton, Tipton, Hamilton, Madison, Delaware, Randolph, Vermillion, Parke, Putnam, Hendricks, Marion, Hancock and Henry
This includes the cities of Lebanon, Carmel, Zionsville, Delphi, Flora, Williamsport, West Lebanon, Lafayette, West Lafayette, Frankfort, Kokomo, Attica, Covington, Veedersburg, Crawfordsville, Tipton, Fishers, Noblesville, Anderson, Muncie, Winchester, Clinton, Newport, Rockville, Greencastle, Plainfield, Brownsburg, Danville, Indianapolis, Greenfield, Cumberland and New Castle.
Snow is expected with a total accumulation of 2 to 3 inches. Motorists should plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute. Also, rapidly falling temperatures this evening and overnight may lead to flash freezing conditions with roads remaining icy through Tuesday morning.
