Frankfort City Provides Mid-Day Update

Frankfort Street Department has been working non-stop since Tuesday evening around 11:00pm. Street Superintendent, Jason Forsythe, reported that the outskirts of Frankfort (Maish Road, Kelly Road, and Williams Road) are the worse due to high winds and blowing snow.

The Street Department sent out 2 – 2 ton trucks with large plows to work on clearing and opening those roadways.

Downtown Frankfort and most of the main roadways have been cleared. Crews have been working on removing the large mounds of snow from the downtown square. In total, the Street Department has 12 vehicles or heavy machinery working to clear streets around the clock.

The Street Department has been working tirelessly, so let’s do our part in helping clear the roads:

  • Park your vehicles in your driveway or in off-street parking spaces/lots
  • If you don’t have off-street parking, please move all of the vehicles to one side of the road
  • If you are a private snow removal company, please refrain from moving snow from the parking lots or driveways into the roadway. Please find a spot on your current location to pile all of your snow.

Clinton County and the City of Frankfort are currently in a Red/Warning Travel Status. This is the highest level and is restricted to emergency personnel travel only. Most of our industries and businesses are closed, so please refrain from driving.

Please watch the City of Frankfort website, Frankfort Street Department, or City of Frankfort Facebook pages for updated information as we navigate this winter storm.
