On June 8, 1944, he was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth (Sampson) Perdue in Indianapolis. After 67 years together, she passed away on December 5, 2011.
He was raised and attended school in Tennessee. Hildreth served his country honorably from 1942 to 1945 in the United States Army, serving in France and Germany as a Tank Gunner.
He had worked for CF Roark as a Plant Manager in Brownsburg for over 25 years.
Hildreth was a member of the Boone County Conservation club in Lebanon for many years. He had a passion for shooting sports, having volunteered for many years with the Boone County 4-H shooting sports program. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, he loved his family dearly
Survivors include son; Gary Perdue, daughters; LaVonne Kathleen “Bonnie”, Sharon Rose (Jack) Pedigo and Deborah Ann (Mark) Lister. Nine grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren
In addition to his parents and wife, Hildreth was preceded in death by a son, Larry Ray Perdue, and nine siblings.
Graveside Services with Military Rights are planned for 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 24, 2022, at Lincoln Memory Gardens, 6851 South. Indianapolis Road., in Whitestown, Indiana.
Myers Mortuary in Lebanon has been entrusted with his arrangements for burial.
