Just after 11 p.m. Wednesday, Trooper Thomen was patrolling Braddock Drive near Honeybrook Way in Lafayette. Thomen attempted to stop a 2003 Chevrolet Impala for multiple traffic violations. The driver, later identified as Johnny Munsey, 54, from Lafayette, failed to stop and fled north on Braddock Drive before turning westbound on Honeybrook Way.
Trooper Thomen continued the pursuit westbound on Honeybrook Way and onto other local streets. During the pursuit, Munsey failed to stop at numerous stop signs before stopping in front of a residence near Phillips Court. Trooper Thomen safely took Munsey into custody and transported him to Tippecanoe County Jail.
