Michael E. Gant, 68, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2023 at his home in Lebanon, Indiana. He was born in Frankfort, Indiana on December 6, 1954, a son of the late Allen E. “Gene” Gant and Joan (Mulder) Gant Mooney.
On July 13, 2001, he was married to Anita A. (Leisure) Gant. She passed away on April 5, 2021.
Raised in Clinton County, Michael was a 1972 graduate of Clinton Prairie High School. He worked as a welder and machinist for Rolls Royce for 15 years. Prior to that, he was employed with Commercial Filters in Lebanon for 26 years. He loved sports, especially Notre Dame football.
Survivors include his children, Jeff Gant of Westfield and Stacie Dilley of Lafayette; stepchildren, Charles (Pam) Trout, Johnny (Debbie) Leisure, Susan (Brent) Smith, and Michael Leisure; grandchildren, Mallory Gant, Boyd Dilley, Jr., Conner Dilley, and Kyle Dilley; brother, Steven (Debbie) Gant of Russellville; sister, Joyce M. Troxel and companion, Donald Morris of Lafayette; and half sister, Jennifer Vann and companion Jeff of North Carolina.
In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Nichole Gant.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, Indiana. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with his arrangements.
Memorials may be directed in his memory to the charity of the donor’s choice.
