The Clinton County Extension Homemakers met Thursday evening to celebrate 100 years birthday at the Edward Jones building at Clinton County Fairgrounds.
Special Guest, Mayor Judy Sheets presented and declared 9-21-2023 “Clinton County Extension Homemakers Day”.

The evening began with a meet and greet, A visit and look at displays and the tables that were decorated by each group of homemakers.
Meal Grace by Kirklin Home Arts, A delicious dinner catered by Linda Barnett, And a beautiful 100 year birthday cake was made by Marvel Albitz ( a 50 yr member).
Piano was played by Ginny McCabe-Edna Mills Club.

Welcome and introductions were from County President Pat Burkhalter, Introductions of 50 year members, Past
Presidents, And introduction of guest speaker- Dr.Angela Abbott, Interim Director of Purdue Extension.
Door prizes were given out and the stage decorations were provided by Forest.
Special help with set up and table cloths by 180 Recovery men, AIM and Madison.

The mission of the Indiana Extension Homemakers is to strengthen families through continuing education, leadership development, and volunteer community support.
History of Clinton County Extension Homemakers Assn.
The birth of IHEA, came about at a meeting on January 17th, 1913, at Purdue when Miss Mary L Matthew first Dean of Home Economics at Purdue, and Mrs. Virginia C. Meredith of Cambridge City, felt a need for such an organization and became the motivating power in forming it. Because of their dedication and with solicited help of the Farmers Institute, Home Economics work began in Clinton County in 1921
