The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a freeze warning from 10 p.m. Monday to 10 a.m. Tuesday for Central Indiana, including Clinton, Boone and Carroll counties, as temperatures will dip to as low as 22 this evening and overnight.
Frost and freeze conditions will kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. Individuals need to take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained or allowed to grip slowly. Those who have in-ground sprinkler system should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
Following tonight, brief snow showers with reduced visibility are possible Tuesday afternoon.
