The Community Schools of Frankfort announced that it will close on Monday, April 8 for the total solar eclipse as the High School and Middle School will be in the path of totality.
Superintendent Matt Rhoda released information to the community that the Frankfort schools will be closed on April 8 due to the solar eclipse with a make-up date of April 12.
Rhoda stated that Friday, April 12 was slated as a snow make-up date on the school calendar and will be utilized as a solar eclipse make-up date instead.
“Due to the concerns surrounding hosting school during the solar eclipse, Community Schools of Frankfort students will not be in school on Monday, April 8,” Rhoda released.
Case Arena is within the path of totality, and the county is expecting an increased number of visitors during the eclipse that has sparked numerous projects and events that will take place during the weekend before the eclipse as well as the day of the eclipse.
